Using a pump truck to pump cement into tall buildings has revolutionized the construction industry. The only problem was that the ability of the pump truck was limited to pumping the cement only to the 17th – 18th floors. Once you had to go higher, the pumping hose was connected to a stage pump where a worker had to stand all day just to press a few buttons to activate the stage pump.

On June 2, 2007, for the first time ever in the world, wireless stage pumping was done by Pyramid Floor Covering, Inc. Now the worker on the ground floor could operate the stage pump on the 17th floor from the pump truck! The job was performed at Avalon Bay Residences (a building that is 34 stories high) in Long Island City, Queens New York.
Pyramid received their 4th new pump truck in May 2007. This was the first pump truck to do the testing with the wireless stage pump. The pump truck pumped material up to the 17th floor into the stage pump. There the new wireless stage pump pumped the material higher up. All this was done using the fully wireless control from the pump truck on the ground floor!
The plan was that all 3 of Pyramids pump trucks were to be setup with the wireless stage pumping features. That goal has been realized and Pyramid is now the first company in the world to have all their trucks running with a fully wireless stage pump.
